Audio restoration online

Mains hum, tape hiss, vinyl clicks — the transfer sounds dirty even when the music is alive? Magic Master removes buzz (de-hum), gently cleans noise (spectral denoise) and patches impulse clicks (de-click) before mastering. “Restore old recording” intent, A/B in the browser.

Three restoration modules

Ordinary mastering will not heal a dirty input — it only locks hum and clicks in louder. The restoration chain runs earlier: clean the medium first, then hit LUFS / True Peak.

01

De-hum

Narrow notches at 50/60 Hz and harmonics. Auto frequency from the spectrum or manual EU/US. Strength via a PRO slider.

02

Spectral denoise

Gentle tape_hiss preset: a Wiener mask with smoothing to lift cassette hiss without watery highs.

03

De-click

Short impulses ≤3 ms (vinyl, cassette) are interpolated. Sensitivity is adjustable; musical transients stay protected.

Honest limits: a badly damaged medium will not become a studio master. We remove typical hum, hiss and clicks and prepare the input for mastering — always compare A/B after processing.

Who needs this

  • Cassette and reel transfers — mains hum and tape hiss get in the way of the music.
  • Vinyl needle clicks — short impulses; de-click patches them surgically.
  • Old home recordings — PSU buzz, lamp noise, room tone in quiet passages.
  • Before mastering an archive — so loudness / True Peak do not seal in input dirt.

FAQ

How is restoration different from ordinary mastering?

Mastering balances tone, loudness and True Peak. Restoration first removes mains hum, hiss and impulse clicks so the master does not seal in input dirt.

What is de-hum?

Narrow notch filters at 50 or 60 Hz and harmonics. They cut mains buzz from tapes and old transfers with almost no musical damage. Frequency can be auto-detected from the spectrum.

How does de-click work?

The detector finds short impulses (up to 3 ms) — typical vinyl and cassette clicks — and replaces them with interpolation. Musical transients (hits, plucks) stay intact at a sensible sensitivity.

Is this the same as De-clipper or AI Unlimiter?

No. De-clipper repairs peaks cut at 0 dBFS. AI Unlimiter opens an over-compressed brick that is not necessarily clipped. Restoration is about hum, noise and clicks on old media. Jobs often combine.

How much does restoration cost?

The first basic master per day is free (UTC). De-hum / denoise / de-click are a PRO chain billed in tokens via YooKassa. There is no separate “restoration fee”.
