Where your masters are stored and how to download them
A short but important question: where does your master go after processing, and how do you download it? Here's Magic Master's storage model in plain terms.
Download right away — that's the main rule
After processing, the result screen has a download button. Press it immediately — the file saves to your device and stays yours forever. This is the most reliable way, and it doesn't depend on how long the result lives on the server.
How long the result lives on the server
The finished file is held in server memory for about an hour after mastering. During that hour you can re-download it from history (in your profile). It isn't kept on disk longer than that, to save resources and keep the queue fast.
How to download from history
Open Profile → Mastering history. Next to each entry:
- if the file is still available (within that one hour) there's a ↓ button;
- if the window has passed, a "not stored" note appears instead of the button, with a hint. That's not a failure — the result simply isn't on the server anymore.
The history re-download button is available to everyone, while the result is still in memory (that one hour). A small thing, built from your requests.
What to do if the file is no longer stored
The data can't be recovered, but it's not a problem:
- Re-master for free — upload the same track and pick the same preset. The result is identical (processing is deterministic).
- Download right away next time — the file on your device stays yours forever.
In short
- Download right away after mastering — most reliable.
- Re-download from history for ~1 hour, while the result is in server memory.
- File gone? Just re-master — it's free.
