Remove clipping from a track online
Peaks flattened against the ceiling — a Suno/Udio export or a hot DAW bounce sounds harsh and dull? De-clipper restores short clipped runs with cubic interpolation before mastering. Automatic, no DAW.
Repair peaks →What De-clipper does
Clipping means peaks cut flat at digital full scale. Mastering cannot undo a damaged input — the grit and harmonics stay. De-clipper runs earlier: it finds those shelves and rebuilds short clipped runs.
Clipping detector
Every upload is checked: sample share at the ceiling and clipped-region count. The track passport shows the result.
Cubic interpolation
Short shelves (up to 2 ms) are replaced with a curve from neighboring clean samples — the transient gets its tip back.
Artifact-aware limits
Long shelves are left alone on purpose: reconstructing them risks clicks. Clean files pass through unchanged.
Who needs this
- AI music creators (Suno, Udio) — exports often arrive already clipped; without repair the master inherits the grit.
- Producers with hot bounces — peaks hit 0 dBFS on export from the DAW.
- Before streaming release — True Peak and platform codecs do not forgive input shelves.
- Anyone hearing rasp on hits — a classic clue of clipped transients.
FAQ
What is clipping in an audio file?
Peaks cut into a flat shelf when the level exceeded digital full scale during recording or export. The sound gets harsher, harmonic distortion appears, and transients lose their shape.
How does De-clipper work in Magic Master?
The detector finds regions at the ceiling; short runs (up to 2 ms) are restored with cubic interpolation from neighboring clean samples. Then the track enters the normal mastering chain. The passport notes the repair.
Do I need to turn De-clipper on manually?
No. Detection runs on every track; if clipping is found, restoration applies automatically (enabled in production). A clean file is left unchanged.
How is De-clipper different from AI Unlimiter?
De-clipper repairs clipped peaks on the input. AI Unlimiter opens an over-compressed brick that is not necessarily clipped — restoring perceived punch and crest factor. Both can help, but they solve different problems.
How much does it cost?
The first basic master per day is free (UTC). De-clipper is part of the mastering chain — no separate fee. PRO features are billed in tokens via YooKassa.
